THE CLEVELAND WEST ART LEAGUE ANNOUNCES A CALL FOR
2018 CURATORIAL AND EXHIBITION PROPOSALS
CWAL is a non-profit artists organization
with a gallery located in 78th Street Studios in the Gordon Square
Arts District. All submissions are reviewed and selected by a Programming
Committee. 2D, 3D and new media welcome. The Programming Committee meets twice
Anyone applying to curate or exhibit must
be a current CWAL member and must not have shown in the gallery within the last
two years. Annual membership is $30 and can be
purchased when submitting a proposal.
The deadline to submit for this cycle of
exhibition proposal is Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 11:59pm. The next submission deadline will be in the winter of 2018. Deadline
forthcoming. If you do not get selected in this cycle, you are welcome to reapply
for the next deadline.
CWAL offers gallery space for members during the Cleveland Bazaar hosted by 78th Street Studios. The
holiday sale takes place Dec. 9th and 10th and 3rd
Friday, Dec. 15th. Space is limited and is given on a first come;

if you would like to be included in the show. In the subject line please write CLEVELAND BAZAAR. Artists are
given wall space and are responsible for hanging work themselves.
CWAL is looking for proposals for:
(3) 2 person exhibitions - CWAL is pleased to
offer three, two-member exhibitions during the 2018 exhibition cycle. These exhibitions include third Friday
opening and closing receptions with the possibility of an additional artist

Six in Studio
- One of the most exciting programs CWAL offers is Six in Studio, where we
invite a guest curator to select six artist-member applicants to actively
create work in our 78th Street gallery space for an entire month between March
and April. The opening is a meet the
curator and participating artists during March?s third Friday kick-off party.
The closing is the reveal of the final works created by the artists. Installation and collaborative
work is encouraged.
The curator for Six in Studio will be
announced in February of 2018 along with directions for applying.
